I don't know if anyone realizes this but back when Burt Rutan won the xprize w/ spaceship one, which hangs in the Smithsonian, he was joined by Richard Branson and made Virgin Galactic. They in turn also formed thespaceshipcompany.com to manufacture Virgin's fleet of spaceships and launch vehicles. an agreement for 5 rocket spaceships and 2 launch crafts was reached.
