February 26--After sunset the wind kicked up from the north. 20 mph gusts at least. I hope the three lettuce starts I transplanted will survive it. The low this morning will be below freezing. I also planted a row of White Icicle radish and some Shanghai pak choi left over from last year. I filled in a box with the Wallace Farm compost. It is as black as coal. I didn't go out to buy fertilizer. I didn't feel so good after a nap. I think I had a slight fever. Moving around helped. Inside I planted more pepper seeds. I have four under the light now. I soaked some seeds in potassium nitrate I bought last year from chileplants.com. Maybe that will help speed up the germination.

Thursday will be sunny but breezy. Always is in the winter after the rain ends. March will be windy, too.

A few cabbage starts are looking better now that they receive more minutes of direct sun.
