I think you're only looking at that from one side. The other side is, Trump was voted in because Obama had made a mess of some things, to the point the avg person (at least in the south), wanted someone who was never a politician. I'd say the situation regarding Democrats is what drove the election for Trump.
And now, when the Democrats could attempt to return us to normalcy, instead they choose to go further left, leaving a situation where you must now select from extremes. The reality is, if the Dems wanted someone with a shot who was somewhere in the center, they'd be backing Biden.
FWIW, I agree that many Republican Senators would love to see Trump not there, but Dems are taking the wrong tact to fight him.
I absolutely believe electing Bernie (or Warren) would make a far greater negative effect on the country than Trump ever can.
From my perspective, the issue with Trump is less about what he does, but more about what he says. I'm curious how you see Trump hurting you directly?

Just my opinion, of course.
