It's clear to me that AMD has not sent out samples to reviewers because they don't want comparisons being made against Conroe. The Brisbane parts have no better chance than the Windsor parts of putting up a good showing here.

But explaining why nothing has hit the retail channel when AMD has a history of stocking distributors well before a major launch - well that's a different story.

Or why Dell and HP aren't even taking orders, even assuming the chips are en route?

Don't people usually call events like these "vapor" launches?
