SMH! It seems you missed the point in the article and took it literally - there isn't any abstraction in the thought process.

The author was using gold etc as a example.

The point was that the SEC was warning novice investors about penny stocks and scams like GRNF.

Marijuana could have been used in place of gold...

I know Costello true believers will do anything to defend him - but the facts are the SEC is warning investors about penny stock scams.

The SEC when issuing warnings or alerts don't mention a specific company - I didn't know the article was going to be so difficult to understand.
