Denninger: Nobody Committed Any Crimes (Bullcrap!)

Gee, isn't this illegal?

One way hospitals have been able to drum up more cash: raising prices on private insurance plans. And one way hospital systems strengthen their ability to do that is by getting bigger.
Analysts say that’s one of the factors driving all the mergers and consolidation across U.S. hospitals. By gaining market share, they can raise their prices.

Mergers and consolidation for the purpose of gaining market share and raising prices is and has been a felony for more than 100 years.

Remember that T-Mobile and Sprint were sued by multiple states claiming exactly this -- that they would lessen competition and raise prices. The deal was reviewed and the judge convinced otherwise.

The states lost.

The States have the right to bring civil enforcement action (sue) under 15 USC Chapter 1. However, the federal government can prosecute because these offenses are criminal felonies under federal law and have been for more than a century.

But.... when it comes to hospitals and other medical practices?

Nobody committed any crimes.

Folks, you are overpaying to the tune of 500% for medical care as a result of this crap. It will only stop when you make clear that if felonies are going to go unpunished by the government, which is charged with enforcing the law, then the people will do whatever is necessary to change that.

If nobody was ever prosecuted for robbing banks your local bank would have a line of robbers lined up out the door waiting for their turn to pull their gun and threaten to use it. Well, the medical establishment does exactly this to you, every minute of every day, and damn near every one of them is involved in robbing you every single day -- to the tune of more than $3 trillion dollars a year.
