Yet, the latest short positions for UEX still show a rise despite the fact that the share price hovers at a mere $0.12 CDN. Who would take a short position in such a situation?
There are many factors contributing to the suppression of Uranium mine company share prices and as shareholders it is important that we all understand how this works. I hope the @quakes99 picks up on this post and tweets it on his feed. This issue needs all the exposure it deserves.
ETF Rules Short Selling Rules The opaque nature of the ATS exchanges
One poster @RetailRevolt puts it this way:
1.) Do you understand what Uranium ETFs are capable of doing? Do you think that they have been helpful to the Uranium Mining Industry? Do you think that they have hurt the Uranium Mining Industry? Do you think their rules contribute to investors being misinformed? Check out this must read article which is starting to get a lot of attention for what it reveals about ETFs.
2.) Your shares can be sold without your permission and when that happens, it drives down the value of your portfolio. Then there is this thing called Operational Short Selling. Do you understand it? I don't. But I do understand Short Selling and I don't think it is acceptable for anyone to be selling my shares against my will. If you think this is ok then do nothing. If this bothers you, then cast your vote via the poll
