I could be wrong, but, it was my impression that GNUS gets nothing (no royalties) from the book series, GNUS license excludes the books. It is also my understanding that there was a lot of unpublished material and that some of animated series episodes might be based off that. I’m unsure of where the new characters came from.

I forgot about the Kellogg’s deal. It could be a lot of money or almost nothing. I looked at the press release and it was a promotional deal paid by Penguin Young Readers Group. If it is a charity thing, I doubt GNUS gets anything but additional tax write-offs. Also the possibility that Penguin can use Llama Llama images for promotional purposes, to sell the books (having said that, I hope GNUS didn’t have to pay anything for the promotion).

I think, GNUS would do well, if they are able to sell broadcast rights for Llama Llama off of Netflix, and to others besides PBS (I have nothing against PBS, just don’t think they pay high prices for their content).

Edit
I don’t think GNUS would have a cash problem if they got royalties from Llama Llama book sales.
