Because the market already has a cheaper Generic approved patch that does not have any label warnings for BMI. Orthos Evra has an excellent history for over a decade...hard to imagine why women would switch to a higher priced less effective product and risk pregnancy. Remember that Twirla was basically approved to allow some women to choose a patch that has a lower does of hormones to avoid side effects....this also reduces effectiveness aka the "pearl index"....so this is by no means an unmet market...it's just an option for a small population that may or may not see benefits from a lower dose patch.
