Patients' notes accessible via new system Back to News

A new mobile access application enabling patients' notes to be viewed has completed its developmental phase and is now available for field use.
MedifyRemote has been designed for use within the National Health Service (NHS) and uses a mobile secure link to provide remote access for home-visiting caregivers who need to view patients' details.
The company behind the product, Medify Solutions, said that the system, accessible via a Microsoft Pocket PC, does not require download time and removes the need for careworkers to store patient information on a laptop, which potentially carries a high risk.
Currently, MedifyRemote is the only system on the market which provides this remote access facility and was developed at NHS Doncaster Primary Care Trust.
Dr Martyn Coleman, senior lead GP on the project, underlined the potential benefits offered by the system.
"The advantages to all clinical staff will be enormous from this application and contribute greatly to improved patient care and staff morale," he said.
