You say....

If they needed money for equipment or inventory, there surely had to be better avenues to pursue. The collateral they could have provided would have merited a much lower rate. “

You don’t know if the deal is “bad for shareholders”. Nor do you know the BENEFITS. I prefer to wait for facts before drawing conclusions in a public forum.
