this morning I was getting into 1 John and in the introduction notes was the following-----"In John's day as well as today, the tendency to get involved with the complexities of church responsibilities, Bible Reading programs, Spiritual Gifts inventories, and Books that offer seven keys to this and ten steps to that. Unfortunately, too much attention to these good things may prevent us from focusing on what really matters.--Jesus Christ.-- John says: Let me make is simple. Walk with Jesus. Cling to your faith. Stay in the light. When you sin, confess and move on. And show you love for Jesus by loving your brothers and sisters in His name."
Just a passing thought here, sometimes organized religion makes us think that we have to do this or that to prove our Christian faith, but I like John's suggestion....keep it simple-- love God--and Love your fellow man........One day back some time ago I was chatting with my oldest son and he told me this very thing, that he thought that we make our faith to complicated, if we learned to Love Jesus and Love our fellow man as we love ourselves, then everything else would fall into place.....How very true. Some times we just have to listen to our heart, actually this is how The Holy Spirit speaks to us.
