DataJungle Software Announces Support for Cognos Series 8 Business Intelligence Platform
Matrix Extends the Cognos Platform With Interactive Dashboarding, Annotation, and Collaboration
Dec 6, 2006 7:30:00 AM
OTTAWA -- (MARKET WIRE) -- 12/06/06 -- DataJungle Software (OTCBB: DJSW), the only provider of dashboarding and collaboration software for both the Microsoft SQL Server and Cognos business intelligence (BI) platforms, today announced that Matrix, DataJungle's proprietary front-end environment, will be migrated to support the new Cognos Series 8 platform. Currently Matrix supports the Cognos Series 7 infrastructure, Microsoft SQL Server 2005, including Analysis Services and Reporting Services, and Oracle relational data sources.

Matrix represents a new generation of BI software that will extend the Cognos Series 8 platform with a number of important capabilities -- including:

-- Integration of non-quantitative information. Matrix's annotation
functionality allows users to add commentary and information to the numbers
buried anywhere in their multidimensional (OLAP) data and share this with
the user community. This is very important because the raw operational
numbers never tell the whole story. The associated context and knowledge
possessed by users scattered throughout the organization is a critical
asset that makes the BI data meaningful and actionable.

-- End-user information self-service. With Matrix, end users can readily
navigate their multidimensional data as well as create, organize, and
layout their own interactive dashboards without having to rely on
specialized report authors or the IT department. End user independence
promotes the usage of BI software and results in users gaining exactly the
information they need in a timely manner.

-- A fully collaborative BI environment. Matrix allows end users to
create and publish views to shared libraries, where they can be accessed by
colleagues who can then readily integrate these into their own dashboards.
This means that all the most important views and insights can be shared
throughout the organization, thereby ensuring that everyone can work with a
common understanding of the status of the business and move forward in a
coordinated way.

-- Full integration with the Microsoft BI platform. Matrix allows
organizations to seamlessly integrate data and views based on SQL Server
2005 with data drawn from Cognos sources. Matrix is the only solution to
address the needs of the many customers that are running mixed Cognos and
Microsoft platforms.
"The Cognos Series 7 platform is probably the most widely deployed infrastructure in the enterprise BI market," said Denes Bartakovich, DataJungle co-founder and Chief Operating Officer. "With Matrix, Cognos Series 7 customers can turn their BI infrastructure into a highly visual and collaborative environment with minimal incremental investment or effort. Matrix will be ready to extend the same critical capabilities for those customers who choose to migrate to the Series 8 infrastructure, or to those running mixed environments including Microsoft SQL Server 2005. That clearly is a very sizable opportunity which DataJungle is uniquely positioned to exploit."

Matrix for Cognos Series 8 will be available in the first quarter of 2007.
