OH BOY!!!!! I have once again read through Paul's Epistles and now entering Hebrews, I thought I would take 3 chapters a day and really consecrate on each, today I entered into Chapter 4 and really tried to move on but got hung up on "REST", now I thought I was in step but then when I got to verse 10-----"For he who has entered His rest has himself also ceased from his work asGod did from His"......I have been on this now for close to 45 Min. to an hour......."REST"-----when reading verse 10 I can not help but wonder if this means our final "rest" is after our earthly life has ended, if I remain faithful to the end I enter into God's rest. The only N.T. writer who has much to say about 'rest" is the author of Hebrews----for him the consummation of the Christian Gospel is that those who truly believe it will enter into God's rest, this would be the same rest God has enjoyed ever since His works were completed....Eternity

This led me to think on what I have been taught over the years, 6 days we labor & the 7th day we rest...Old Testament teachings, nothing wrong with this, but from the New Testament when I think on "REST" as life after death---My eternal rest----it certainly makes one think---. I/ we must also think on the fact that our final resting place with God will be for those who remain faithful to the Gospel......John 3:16 I think says all...."For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life."-------God Bless
