Santa may be right about the correction coming, but if you really want to own the stock for the long-term in a taxable account, you've got to hope you can buy it back for ~30% less in order to get the same number of shares back and also pay the Grinch.
You've got to consider the Grinch when planning to optimize after tax earnings on the gifts from Santa.
