Well the Republican U.S. Senate removed two pro-marijuana riders: one that would have stopped the DOJ from going after marijuana businesses and consumers in states in which it is legal and one that would have let marijuana businesses use the banking system to do their business. Anyone who says there's no difference between the two major political parties on marijuana legalization is terribly misguided. The Republican are keeping the status quo against marijuana legalization in place.
