Split? Of course not. It's time for ATT to regain it's former respectability, and a MUCH higher price would be one more step in that direction. Many remember ATT's ignominious 1:5 reverse split of 2002. Nowadays quality stocks trade in the upper double digits and beyond. There are damn good reasons stock splits are nearly extinct.

ATT traded for $300 before the Great Depression. Why $39 now? I, for one, only buy higher priced stocks. $40 is about my minimum.
