there are no retail shorts in otc. even if someone could find shares to borrow from a broker dealer, and assuming an otc market maker would make the sell trade, it is roughly $2.30 per share borrow fee on average, cash up front. for a .031 stock, who is going to pay that borrow fee per share? no one.

anyone short selling stocks is doing it on the big boards, where it is allowed and cheap on margin.

there is no margin trading in otc either.
