that was not the GOV

best I recall - the big hit for F and F was NOT on their MBS paper (even those of lower quality or whatever) ----- but instead on their investment of profit in crappy PLMBS

you can not blame that massive investment in crap on the GOV or any affordable housing --- it was GREED by F and F - no different (with that money) than the BANKS with all their money
