QMC already has the art of Q Dot tagging

The Merck patents appear to be claiming tags that are patterns. From the webinar, it sounds like QMC's tags are spectral. For example, you can't tag a liquid with a pattern, but you can with a spectrum.

I think the challenge with spectrum tags is that there may be a fairly small number of unique tags that can be created given the resolution capabilities of inexpensive readers. They talked about innovative ways of doing it. It will be interesting to see what, if anything, that means.
