I do think waiting until December next year is wrong. He would want this for election season, December would miss that entirely.

I can't see him waiting to work on this for ANY reason. Farmers in Kentucky have made a big commitment to growing hemp, and they are already in a mid-crisis with nowhere to sell their crops. He worked hard to get the laws passed to allow the growing of hemp and I can't see him sitting around doing nothing while watching his constituents going broke.

The two farms next to me have already harvested their hemp crops and cannot find anywhere to sell it. One farmer must be growing it exclusively for CBD use. He stripped the upper one third of the plant, taking only the upper leaves and buds. He crushed the stalks up and used them for fertilizer. So, this means he is NOT growing it for other industrial purposes, like making clothing, or flooring, etc. He is all in on CBD and harvested per instructions from processors. Problem is, the processors are all overstocked with inventory. He has an option and that is to drive many hundreds of miles from here to a processing plant that IS accepting new crops. However, he has to make a decision to do it soon but have this extra expense, or wait and maybe THAT facility will also be too full to accept his hemp.

McConnel needs to act fast because these farmers are already planning their Spring planting. We might see a sudden reversal and Kentucky farms go back to planting soybeans and corn. A great new industry is already being crushed by our fumbling politicians and government departments!!!
