Twitter Inc. TWTR, +3.14% on Thursday said it will let users hide replies to their tweets so they "feel safe and comfortable" on the platform. The social-media company's latest attempt to curb harassment marks the first time it has given its members greater control over the tone and topic of a Twitter thread before it devolves into a nasty exchange. The change is being made, Twitter explained, because some users don't hide replies out of fear of retaliation. Twitter shares are up 3% on Thursday, and 5% for the year. The S&P 500 index SPX, -0.10% has increased 24% this year.
