New company has 20 business days to stay in current ticker

The 20 days you're referring to is just how long the "D" will stay attached to the current ticker. It just denoted that a split has occurred. The ticker may or may not change immediately on the 21st day. That just depends on the time it takes to process the symbol change with Finra.

You can lead a horse to water. But you can't make him get down on one knee and do an Al Jolson impression!
