Sadly very perplexing....
Docs and Hospitals are on a constant drip of "big pharma" … anything that does not come out of that wheelhouse is suspect. I can hear the "yea... sure... this will save us all" bs Its not only the acceptance by the docs but the infrastructure and training. Always better and faster to inject something into the IV or give them a pill … sit back and watch the result or lack thereof.
I've spoken to pharma who make rounds in the ICU and ER... the consult with the docs and get in the tackle box to see what they have not tried yet... while the patient dies. Most of the time when the patients are slipping away... they already know they have lost the battle... and yield to "hope and prayer" with the family for a miracle. Such bs.
I've witnessed it. In my family. As an investor... and heard "there is nothing more we can do... its in Gods Hands now".
But.. did you try a Cytosorb Cartridge ? Crickets. Paul passed with enough antibiotics and steroids in his body to treat Central Africa. Oh... and he was an investor also. Think about that one for a minute.
I am no expert in regulation.
What I do know is as a business man... I tend to evaluate... test and implement pretty quickly when I see something that will help my companies. Big Business has to have 50 meetings.. consultants... opinions.. tests... more meetings... and finally some suites that know jack squat... finally make some kind of decision that gets changed by someone higher up in the food chain … that just needs to put his spin on it to justify his multi million dollar compensation package. If you can't inject it or swallow it... you have your work cut out for you.

I suggest you all go see "Ford vers Ferrari". Great example of how the suits can F it up. Oh.. its also a awesome movie too.
