While we wait. The reason Ray went out to see the McDonald brothers was not to sell them malt mixers. But to buy their patent on what was one of the first GOOP machines. Push a button and out comes a malt. They would only sell it along with the restaurant. Which Ray did not want. But some of his associates thought was the coming new thing. They brought the concept back to Chicago. Opened up two stores and were killing it. Needed money to expand. Back then, no frozen fry's. All the potatoes were cut fresh at the restaurants. The dad of one of my friends was the clearing broker on the exchange for all the Idaho potato contracts. He gathered all the produce people in the mid west. Put them on buses and took them to see the restaurants. The deal was you payed X for a given area. Then you got to service all the stores as they were built. One of my friends was on the bus. I asked him if he gave them the money. He replied YES, but I should have given them ten times more. I asked why didn't you. He replied. I stood there and said to myself. How can you make any money selling hamburgers at .15 cents and fry's at .10 cents. He said to me. PETER, I JUST DIDN'T KNOW WHAT I WAS LOOKING AT. Same thing for me with this stock.
