USA Technologies, a payments services firm, has expanded its partnership with National Entertainment Network (NEN) for a cashless payments system.

NEN will now implement USA Technologies’ ePort Connect cashless payment system on 5,000 of its vending machines. The deployment will be carried out for game room entertainment and bulk confection vending machines over one year.

USA Technologies has already shipped 1,800 devices. Previously, NEN implemented ePort Connect system on 400 of its machines.

With the ePort system, NEN machines can accept cash, credit/debit cards and also contactless payments via mobile wallets. The machines will also be able to accept QR codes using related readers.

NEN president Jim Sevalt said: “Their ability to bring customized solutions that integrate seamlessly with our digital marketing initiatives will enable us to better tailor programmes to drive additional traffic to our machines as well as customer’s stores. It also enables us to offer the best, most agile, secure, and proven cashless payment solutions on the market.”

Sevalt added that ePort systems led to increased sales on equipped machines.

USA Technologies senior vice-president of Market Development Michael Marett said: “Our expanded agreement with NEN, which is one of the largest and most recognized entertainment companies in the country, is a testament to the benefits of ePort Connect, and the power that comes with being able to better capture and understand every transaction.

“Through ePort Connect, we are not only enabling NEN to more effectively manage its business, but also bringing consumers more personalised engagements, in line with their expectations.”
