If you measure the value and then change the process or measure something else, it is highly likely that you will receive a different value. In this case, after adding lime and additional ore to the pad, more gold seems to have been available from the ore. That resulted in higher values for both the column test on the pad - 1.8 gpt - and the pregnant solution - .48 gpt - in the pond.
