Not that simple. While I am no expert on the matter, there are a myriad of securities laws governing when insiders can make such purchases. They certainly cannot make them if they know that a material event is near that will affect stock price. To that end, John stated that a formal announcement of a commercial agreement with Materialise is simply a matter of "when" at this point. I don't think anyone would be shocked if it coincides with this week's Formnext. Regardless, if John knows this is coming soon, he can't be buying on the open market.
