Major Airports Evaluating Axis Ballasts
Wednesday November 15, 4:01 pm ET

LINCOLN, Neb.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Axis Technologies Group, Inc. (Pink Sheets:AXTG - News) is pleased to announce several major airports have installed the Axis Dimming/Daylight Harvesting (DDH) ballasts to evaluate their energy-saving properties. These include Dallas/Ft. Worth (DFW); Harlingen, TX (HRL); Sky Harbor in Phoenix (PHX), McCarren in Las Vegas (LAS) and George Bush in Houston (IAH).
Many major airports operate 24 hours per day, necessitating round-the-clock energy requirements. The Axis DDH ballast provides a solution for these airports to lower light levels to minimum foot-candle requirements at night and to dim the fixtures during daylight hours for further energy conservation and savings.

"At DFW Airport, Axis ballasts provided a 20% overall reduction in lighting energy, and more significantly, a 26% peak demand reduction in lighting energy over the previous T8 lighting system," said Kip Hirschbach, CEO of Axis. "Peak demand is basically a penalty charge that many power companies impose during mid-day when energy usage is at its highest. This is also the time the Axis ballasts achieve their maximum dimming, because the sunlight is the brightest," added Hirschbach
