Petz, I agree with all of your statements but you don't take into account that Intel needs to charge higher ASPs becuase of all the marketing $$$$$ that are spent to promote their cpus in order to get higher ASPs :) Did that make sense? So, from a manufacturing perspective I am sure Intel is the low-cost producer but when you throw in their marketing budget ( which I think equalled or exceeded AMD's revenues the last couple of years ) then they are not the low-cost producer. So, because their pricing structure depends on the marketing $$$ I think those $$$ should be included in the total cost of getting a cpu from nothing to a finished good in the hands of the consumer. This includes all the goodies and breaks they give to OEMs in order to get their jingle played in each one of their commercials.
