I got to thinking about Neomedia's signing agreement on gbq
( http://www.neom.com/press_releases/2006/20061026.jsp )

"Mr. Copus said "every click by a VIP GBQ Code Holder will generate revenues," with per-click and monthly plans available to users.

The NeoMedia qode®-based VIP GBQ program will be promoted throughout China on the popular "Super Girl" talent search contest, and used to vote for the winner among the 24 finalists, with each assigned a smart code.

Mr. Copus said that NeoMedia is now readying its JAVA-based qode® application to run on Chinese handsets. He said GBQ members will be invited on the GBQ Web site to provide their mobile number, mobile manufacturer and model, and will then be sent a link for quick and easy over-the-air (OTA) download of the qode® Mobile Software."

Remember, "GBQ" stands for Girl, Boy, Question. So, that got me thinking.

Now, China has a Super Girl and it's a widely popular show which is like American Idol. But, what about Super Boy? Well, China does have that show.

Then we have this...

"Joint Venture with Shandong TV
On September 13, LTON announced that it would establish a joint venture with Shanghai Zhongbang Culture Media Co. Ltd, a subsidiary of Shandong Province TV Station. The joint venture will exclusively operate value added services [VAS] for Shandong TV. LTON has the experience from ‘Super Girl’ and ‘Super Boy’, so the Company does know how to make money from TV programs. Further, in the severe competition situation, it is a right strategy to strengthen relationships with CP."

LTON is Linktone.

And this...

"Shanghai based mobile service provider Linktone submitted its initial public offering prospectus to the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission on February 17. Linktone plans to issue 5.15 million American Depository Shares (ADS) in the IPO whil other shareholders will issue an additional 910,000 ADS. Linktone will trade under the symbol 'LTON.' Shares are expected to be priced between US$10 and $12 but the company could raise up to US$84.7 million according to documents filed with the SEC. Linktone has appointed CSFB, JP Morgan, Piper Jaffray, and CLSA Asia Pacific Markets as underwriters for the IPO. Linktone has an existing relationship with News Corp's Star TV in China."

Note the relationships LTON has with Star TV? Which is owned by Uncle Rupert?

Ok. Am I imagining a relationship here or what?
