For someone as knowledgeable as you, I am surprised by your comments on BK. Many company's do it and while there is short-term pain, they can not only survive but THRIVE afterwards. Take a look at coal giant Peabody Energy (BTU). They declared BK to clear the balance sheet and are still around (albeit their share price tanking over the last year).
