Polartec reportedly had sufficient material to prototype garments.

Darryl, KBLB will most likely be shipping reeled thread to Polartec. They almost certainly won’t weave or knit fabric. Polartec will blend our silk with other materials for price and performance reasons.

We may not even spin the fibers into thread. Polartec may just want the reeled strands. Companies are doing more with spinning these days. Sometimes they will twist fiber strands in one direction and spin the fibers in another. That creates a thread that is balanced and has less of a chance of unwinding.

KBLB sent nearly all of their US silk to Polartec who used it in a pro-totype, so they know what they are getting.
