BioAmber is bankrupt. It filed under Chapter 11 of the US Bankruptcy code, then transitioned to Chapter 15 (same code, LOL), allowing the disposition of the Canadian Subsidiaries under the BIA/CCAA. When the judge said they don't have the status of bankrupt under BIA, that is under that Canadian law and is because of the original filing. Since the parent company is a US corporation, there's no need whatsoever to do anything else in the Canadian court.
It is bankrupt under US Bankruptcy law, like it or not. Just another case of creating a fairy tale off of an excerpt while ignoring the facts.
