It is not worthless by any means but they have to find a partner.

A software company as a partner to plug the bleeding and own a part of it and fix the software will do the job.

The software company should have the expertise to deliver.

Here in Canada I would call Research and Motion or BlackBerry if I were them. They need a new gig and this is perfect.
