You can do better (or more) than that. There are Form D filings (an SEC filing) you can find in the same place. Some Form Ds can be many years old and still be in effect. And then there are filings that even to this day still exist in paper form (amendments to Form D). They take more work to obtain, but it can be done. I haven't had a good reason to do it for some years now, though.
