Equity essentially means an ownership interest, which, in addition to stock, can be a membership interest in an LLC or a partnership interest in a limited or general partnership.

Here is your differences for those who may be wondering.

Equity is ownership of assets once all debt has been paid off and includes stock and shares.

Stock refers to traded equity. Stock is a more general, generic term compared to shares. It can be used to describe the ownership of one or more companies. However, it refers exclusively to corporate entities.

Shares have a more specific meaning, referring to the ownership of a specific company. Shares can refer to owning more than just part of a company, you can own shares of limited partnerships, real estate investments, mutual funds, exchange-traded funds and more. A share is the single smallest denomination of a company’s stock. Shares are essentially units of stock.

To answer your market cap question Doubledown75...

Market capitalization is calculated by multiplying the number of shares outstanding by the current price of a single share...thus is day to day.

The investor is probably looking for a minimum cap of 10 X this...
