NMM -.38 to 19.74, a disappointing reaction to a strong report. The single analyst Q3 EPS estimate of $0.34 is outdated and was not updated to reflect the surging BDI over the summer.
There's a lot of skepticism about the sustainability of these results. The BDI is now at 1782, way down from a 9 year high of 2518 set in early September and trending lower. If it can average around 1500 for coming year, then NMM will likely be trading a lot higher in 12 months, but that remains to be seen. The BDI has proven to be rather unpredictable and more volatile than ever this year.
