I´m not going to post anything on the "quad fx" as it is quite simply a non-event.
AMD investors wish it was a non-event. Apparently, for what you term a non-event, a handful of internet sites wasted quite a bit of time testing it out, not to mention AMD itself issued a press release. Yeah, you're certainly free to close your eyes and hope it all goes away...
The reality is AMD entered the ring and was decked. I think "mindshare", "perception" and "reputation" have all taken a turn for the worse for AMD, based in this "non-event." On the bright side, they are not dead. They can lift themselves up and continue fighting.
