"We don’t know what they said to the whales. The 100 tons was at the meeting."

well if there are whales that have that level of interest, they know exactly what was said at the sh meet...and it should be the same as they were told...if not, then theres a bigger problem than just over promising and under delivering...

"Timeline will cut it. No doubt."

from companies that have a history of meeting their timelines, sure, a timeline would cut it...

from companies that have a history of not meeting their own timelines?..and when they only recently estimated 100 tons of capacity and have already reduced it by half?..

when they are saying November and it clearly wont be?...

rice took the eggs to Vietnam around oct 5..they still have 3 weeks to go..thats November 16..a total of 6 weeks...

from that point on will begin the production of cocoons for silk..making the second batch done WELL into December...

now it could be that the first batch of cocoons could still be used by polartec...if they intend to use the damaged cocoons as fleece material to stuff into jackets...

but that's not exactly what I would want to be announcing as the first use of world changing fiber...

"What timeline was given to risk the moon parka announcement? North Face risked that."

we could have given the whale enough silk to make a moon parka a very long time ago...obviously that's not what they are after...not to mention that spiber is a rather large company, funded with hundreds of millions of dollars, who have Toyota backing them as well as other very large and institutional backers..

kblb is tiny, has no money, is poorly run and never meets their timelines...

with that, the whale will feel timeslines are sufficient?..

"North Face risked that"

spiber is STILL not mass producing and that moon parka came out years ago...

our whale wont even allow themselves to be named publicly alongside kblb…

doesn't that say something?...

" A KBLB timeline will be far more credible than anyone else’s. They’ll risk it."

no and no...
