borusa, SPARC and AMD64 are too different for that sort of scenerio. Besides, why would AMD want that? No, the speculation here is what if Sun ditched SPARC, adapted Opteron and ported their Solaris OS to it. I think it is too late for Sun, they are too rapidly losing the market to Linux.

Funny thing - Linux aimed at Microsoft and shot Sun instead.
