Hollywood has always had this tendency to idealize the past. It is, for the most part, in the business of selling dreams. Books, fiction or non fiction, that have past eras as the settings, also tend to idealize prior eras.

I suppose the new royalty or elite on this planet, ever since the Industrial Revolution that began in England in the mid 19th century, is the man in the three piece suit, whose chief concern is the bottom line.

As the new century began, UN data keepers determined that it was the first time in history when the majority of the planet's inhabitants lived in cities and towns. The percentage will increase in the current century. Scant attention will be paid to how the food and fiber is grown. The overwhelming majority of the planet's future inhabitants will be mostly preoccupied with other matters.

The Nasdaq's third tier, the AMEX can be just as bad, and last but not least, the OTC, it seems, are financial venues that reward failure.
