Often the posters are just that, posters, similar to the color plates IPIX has produced. There does not have to be an accompanying journal article, but there can be. Sometimes there is staff at a booth, available to answer questions, etc. The company has to pay for the booth if it chooses to have one, of course, not sure about fees for just posters. There is little reason to believe there is a staffed booth.
