However, I'm pretty sure SHLDQ shares will continue trading until they are actually cancelled by FINRA.
If you're going to wait for the "Effective Date" before your short position is "officially" closed you may have to wait for awhile. There are still 3 omnibus hearing dates scheduled until the end of 2019. And who knows how long things might drag out until an Effective Date is determined.
The next "major" step in this case will be the filing of a “Notice of Imminent Effective Date” by the debtors. Will check the dockets occasionally for the filing of this document.
However, my following of this case will not be as intensive in the future as it has been up to now. I have learned a lot about Chapter 11 Bankruptcies from this case and am glad I was able to share my findings with the board.
