Yesterday was a magical day of harvesting on the Good:Farm. The sun was in and out all day....but once we wrapped up for the day the clouds parted with sunbeams shooting down through the pinkish, bluish clouds . I truly have no words to describe how passionate and motivated the @48nrth team was yesterday. Everyone worked their butts off AND brought incredible home cooked food for a potluck lunch....and all on the holiday Monday. I feel so blessed that people like @devin.piche @losgardens @maple_budder are bringing their expertise and dedication to ensure we put our best foot forward on this harvest. Is it perfect? No way! Year one on a new farm of this scale is MAJOR learning!!! No one has EVER done this before. Ever. Planted 250,000 seedlings....on a legal licensed outdoor farm....under strict regulations....just think about that. Every plant is accounted for and tracked and weighed....and tracked some more. We’re not done with this year’s harvest but I’m already so excited for next year on the farm! The amount we’ve learned about how to grow at this scale is staggering. Learning the land...and soil....and genetics...and which methods work best....will be a major advantage to @48nrth. A special thanks to @quill.me who showed up all the way from Portland to lend a helping hand....and brain. And to @amyjweinstein who didn’t hesitate to head the call to spend thanksgiving Monday with me, working the farm. Love you sister!! So thankful for our amazing team.
