Remember also that - with the USAF replacement KC-46A currently unable to operate in the Multi Role Tanker Transport (MRTT) role - carrying groundcrew and spares on deployments whilst also providing AAR to the fighters - the USN will be very keen to be able to use the $TMPS Tristars.

There is an upcoming USMC F-35B sqn deployment on the inaugural operational cruise of the UK's state-of-the-art F-35B carrier HMS Queen Elizabeth in 2020 and the unit may have to deploy to the UK to join the ship [or the ship will have to cross the Atlantic to pick them up].

Omega has no MRTTs.
