I am sure they would want snake arm technology (which will be a must the smaller the surgical site gets - think SINGLE PORT and think MicroRobotics). I am sure any of them would want the wrist roll technology that would enable any surgical robotic system to navigate very, very tight and hard to reach portions of the body. AND I AM PRETTY SURE, any of them would want the patent that would allow them to have a camera on an insertion tube to help collect pre surgical data and feed that to their algorithms to help map out the best possible course of action.
So instead of just quitting (some are more used to doing it then others), they can just license their technology and patents and just collect massive amounts of revenue on their IP and technology.
