Titan is paying them to contribute a component to the robot. If Titan takes off, great for Teleflex. If Titan doesn’t, then oh well.
I do though think that Teleflex would not have been willing to provide a solution compatible with Sport if they were not impressed with Titans technology.
I believe Titan has received many offers to partner and have chose to go at it alone. Maybe in the end the reward is there, but those decisions have really hurt PPS now.
I think the time to partner is once IDE is announced. Do a phased approach like Medtronic did with Mazor.
Mazor did not have that impressive of a Robot and Medtronic purchased it for over $1B. Sport has MANY more potential clinical applications than a spine robot. The valuation, once they have FDA and start generating revenue, will easily be more than Mazor. $3-4B is realistic, the issue is how to they get there alone without non-stop dilution.
