Considering each PowerWall 2 is only 13.5kWh, and cars max out at 100kWh, a fully charged Model S/3/X could power a house for days. It'd be really cool if such reverse charging were possible.



Did you know that on-grid solar setups will not function if the power goes out and you have no battery backup (safety feature to protect power line personnel)? That means the solar system we have on our old house is worthless in a power outage scenario. Maybe this is partly why the energy storage sector is booming. (Go Bloom)

Anyways hopefully Tesla, Rivian, & other electric automakers add hardware for reverse charging. Could be helpful for the days when California residents lose power to prevent fires, Southeast loses power due to hurricane and Northeast due to massive snow storms.

Not a big fan of tesla cars, just their battery capacity and longevity. This, however, is something I could get behind.
