This is the exact wrong time to believe that the US govt. will be proactive in protecting the health of its citizens. Maybe if BT buys us out or gets (expensive) access to our IP, then we'll be talking. Which makes it as unclear as ever why we're not currently trying to sell in the EU or Asia.

Another key thing now is to convince Sen McConnell that the growth and production of VLN will not cause a net loss of employment (or campaign contributions) in his state. I'm talking about the so-called mandate fantasy - it's very possible, though, maybe likely, that the FDA will soon allow the sale of VLN to compete on the open market.
